Cut out the morning Latte

A lot of people don't think they make enough to make ends meet, let alone to have a surplus to save for the future. For some, this may very well be true, but for most, there is something that can be cut out that will really add up over time.

Luxury and convenience items really make good candidates, because they typically are (1) expensive (precisely because they are luxury or convenience items) and (2) short-lived in their utility or pleasure received for the money spent.

Once you drink that Latte, the $4.50 is gone, and you have nothing. It is good while you are drinking it, but consider cutting down to a Latte once per week, get a travel mug and make coffee at home for the commute, or join the coffee club at the office.

You get the idea...

mmm

A cool grand per year!

Yes, your point is very well-taken! A daily $4.50 latte will cost your savings plan $22.50 per week, $90.00 per month, and a whopping $1080.00 per year!!
